Greaseable PHS Rod Ends: What Buyers Should Confirm Before Ordering
In our factory video library, one production clip shows PHS rod ends fitted with grease nipples. It is a small detail, but an important one to confirm before placing an order: not every PHS rod end is supplied with the same lubrication arrangement.
What does the grease fitting do?
A grease fitting provides an access point for adding lubricant during maintenance. For equipment designed around periodic relubrication, this can be a useful feature. However, the fitting alone does not determine service life or suitability. The bearing construction, operating conditions, loads and maintenance practices still matter.
Greaseable or non-greaseable PHS?
The choice should follow the equipment design and the buyer’s specification. If the original assembly calls for a grease fitting, confirm its position and accessibility after installation. If the application uses a different bearing construction or lubrication approach, adding a fitting is not automatically an improvement.
Five details to confirm before ordering
- Exact model and thread direction: Confirm PHS or PHSL, size and the required thread direction.
- Dimensions: Check bore diameter, thread specification and critical installation dimensions against the drawing.
- Lubrication configuration: Specify whether a grease nipple is required and whether there are constraints on its position.
- Construction and application: Share relevant bearing construction requirements, load conditions and maintenance expectations rather than relying on the model name alone.
- Order requirements: Confirm quantity, surface finish, packaging and any marking requirements.
Factory-direct PHS / PHSL supply
At 66 Bearing Factory, we manufacture PHS / PHSL rod ends and can discuss versions with or without grease fittings according to the confirmed specification. Sending a model number, product photo or drawing helps us check the details before quotation.
